Introducing the House of Yin: Restoring, Resting, Centering Relationship

10 December 2024, 9-10:30am Pacific Time on Zoom [find the time in your zone]

In these hyper-heated, hyper-consuming, and violent social and political times, a deep and urgent call for balance compels us to draw down, root, slow down, embrace the darkness, find rest in a myriad of ways, and focus on the expansiveness of relationship in all forms. SSoMA respectfully seeks to bring ancient wisdoms into the modern world.

Centering the Taoist Yin-Yang philosophy and practice is an important spiritual-political response to a hyper-Yang world, one in which hyper-individualism, colonization, the need for control, and separation from the Earth are rewarded.

What is required is a strong rebalancing focus on the Yin, individually and collectively, fortifying the relational, inner work and practice, and our capacity to receive. SSoMA is excited to open the doors of the House of Yin, a liberatory community-learning home for reflective and relationship-grounded practitioners who want to continue to learn and fortify the Yin.

In this public conversation with time for questions & answers, the guides will explore, respectfully and creatively grounding in the Taoist Yin-Yang model and reality:

  • fundamentals of the Yin-Yang philosophy and their application to our hyper-Yang reality, with Dr. Keivan Jinnah

  • how these principles speak to Yin as a spiritual-political response to our times through wisdom-tending lenses, with Pat McCabe (Weyakpa Najin Win, Woman Stands Shining) and Sonali Sangeeta Balajee

  • practices of Yin-oriented storytelling through somatic scribing by Siła Sawicki

  • herbs that strengthen the Yin within our bodies and relations
